Fall Forest Bathing
Sunday October 20, 2024
1-3pm
Join us for an opportunity to press pause on the fast pace of life with a Fall Forest Bathing session at Foxglove Wellness.
Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, the research-based framework used for a Forest Bathing session offers you the chance to slow down and engage your senses, while bathing in the splendour of the beauty of the fall season.
The changing of the seasons is an excellent time to re-connect with your inner wisdom and manifest the transformations that you want in your life. Experience the healing and wellness that comes from connecting with the natural world, which numerous studies have shown to boost mental health, reduce stress, promote creativity and benefit both cardiovascular and immune systems. Forest Bathing reminds us that we are related to all other beings in fundamental ways, deepening our reciprocal relationship with the natural world.
The pace of forest bathing is slow – it is different from taking a walk or hiking in that you are already at your destination. You will get the chance to let go of time and the feeling of needing to do something. There is no right or wrong way to experience Forest Bathing. It can be fun, playful, relaxing, healing, inspiring, grounding, energizing, and/or motivating. There is nothing you need to know ahead of time and you are encouraged to bring your full authentic self to the space.
Your guide is a registered Social Worker and will offer you optional invitations to explore the nature in Mill Creek Ravine using your awakened senses. Forest Bathing is for all ages, abilities and comfort levels with the outdoors—Individuals, families, couples and friends are all welcome.

Bring whatever you need to feel cozy and comfortable. Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes that you won’t mind getting dirty. Because we won’t be moving around too much, bring an extra layer or small blanket and something to sit or lie down on like a mat or camping chair. If you have allergies, accessibility considerations, or other health concerns, please let us know ahead of time.
Please note that we will be starting and ending outside of Foxglove Wellness, with access to the washrooms. We will be venturing into Mill Creek Ravine, with the option of taking a road or stairs. Strollers and wagons are welcome.
