Forest Bathing Group Session (ages 16+)

Join us for an opportunity to slow down and engage your senses, bathing in the splendour of nature!

Sessions Run: On the last Wednesday of each month from 5-7pm.

Cost: $55/Individual/Session

Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, the research-based framework used for a forest bathing session supports the healing and wellness that comes from connecting with the natural world, which numerous studies have shown to boost mental health, reduce stress, and benefit both cardiovascular and immune systems. Forest bathing reminds us that we are related to all other beings in fundamental ways, deepening our reciprocal relationship with the natural world.

The pace of forest bathing is slow with your guide offering you invitations to explore the nature around you using your senses. The structured sequence shared by the guide allows for creative and inspirational opportunities to connect with the beings in nature in new ways that extend beyond the actual session.

Bring whatever you need to feel cozy and comfortable. Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes that you won’t mind getting dirty. Because we won’t be moving around too much, bring an extra layer or small blanket and something to sit or lie down on like a mat or camping chair. If you have allergies, accessibility considerations, or other health concerns, please let us know ahead of time.

Please note that we will be starting and ending outside of Foxglove Wellness, with access to the washrooms. We will be venturing into Millcreek Ravine, with the option of taking a road or stairs.

Please Note: The elements/precipitation are part of experiencing nature. Unless extreme conditions, forest bathing sessions will continue as planned. Please dress for the weather. If extreme weather conditions require sessions to be cancelled, a make up session will be scheduled.

Tie-Dye Party

If you know us at Foxglove Wellness, you know we like to work hard…but play harder!

On Sunday July 9, we are throwing a back alley Tie Dye Party! Get your fav white threads out or purchase one of our “love everybody” Cotton T’s (preorder available in our online store) and transform them into summer rainbow styles.

Kind Ice cream will be slinging their “Gay-OK” scoops along with some other fan favs, SYC brewing will be serving up tasters from their mini truck of their beers and ciders, and the QTHC + Peer N Peer will have a booth set up with various harm reduction and safer sex supplies which are free for community members to take.

Peer N Peer will also have staff on-site to answer any questions. They will provide a Naloxone demonstration and show attendees how to use fentanyl test strips. Their team is also very excited to speak about some of the exciting new work they’ve done this year, including the development of a mental health support program, Bloom, and the development of a province-wide 2S/LGBTQIA+ substance use survey.

Join us for a fun afternoon of safe substance use education, safe sex education, scoops, drinks, tunes, and of course TIE DYE!!!

Tie Dye kits will be available by donation at the event or pre purchased online ($5 minimum) and 100% of funds raised will be directly contributed to the Peer N Peer and the ongoing work they are doing in the community.

This event is ALL AGES, ALL FOLKS. If you’re coming, just be kind babies and love everybody.

The Queer & Trans Health Collective (QTHC) is a grassroots health organization run by and for the queer and trans community to promote equitable opportunity for health and well-being for our community members.
